Information Security Specialist

Job Description

The Information Security Specialist is responsible to provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality and integrity of customer, employee, and business information in compliance with organization policies and standards.



  • Responsible for writing and updating security/compliance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for assisting the Information Security and Compliance Officer with Business Continuity and Risk Management duties
  • Security Training ? responsible for ensuring all sites are in compliance with all security training
  • Access Management ? responsible for ensuring all sites are verifying access every month in their respective areas
  • Assist the Information Security and Compliance Officer with audit preparation
  • Physical Security Audit ? responsible for performing the physical security audit for their respective areas on an annual basis
  • Responsible for monthly Security Bulletins
  • Responsible for monthly Security Checklists
  • Coordinates activities related to audits for annual compliance as listed below:
    • GLBA
    • HIPAA
    • ISAE 3402/3412
    • ISO 2001
    • ISO 9001
    • PCI DSS 2.0/3.0
    • SSAE16
    • SOX

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Prefer bachelor Degree in any field but not required
  • Previous Information Security experience preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with organizational security/compliance policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with office automation tools, especially Windows and MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at any level of the organization
  • Self-starter with a willingness to ask questions and actively seek out answers
  • Ability to work closely with others as a solid team player
  • A positive attitude and ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment
  • SSCP Certification is an advantage
